| Freeware |
|
The available software is subject to the GPL license.
For further information visit the GNU or FSF site, see under: http://www.gnu.org or http://www.gnu.org/fsf/fsf.html. All files are available as tar archive, to speed up the download, they are compressed in Gzip format. Sometimes problems occur when you try to expand the tar archives with the enclosed Solaris tar binary, in such cases you may get better results with the GNU-Tar (see under http://www.sunfreeware.com), better you allways use the GNU-Tar version. To extract/expand the files do:
# gtar zxvf datei.tar.gz
Some archives are available as a package, to install them you need root access to the system:
# su
Password: foo
# pkgadd -d .
-- Warning --
While installing packages on your system, you may damage the system or destroy some security policies and/or guide lines. Installing packages on a system should allways be done by a system administrator or with his agreement. Please visit the documentation site from Sun Microsystems: http://docs.sun.com
